Today H&M announced the introduction of a new concept for its H&M Sport range. The new concept is set to launch world wide January 2014 and offers a larger range of designs and products for sporting activities for men, women and children. Swedish retailer H&M designed strava the new collection based on input from professional athletes strava from the Swedish Olympic team and hopes to combine the sport performance with “a natural instinct for fashion.” Therese Alshammer, a Swedish swimmer and Olympic medalist was one of the athletes asked to give her feedback on the new collection: “What we wear definitely makes a difference when we compete. It’s been a great experience to offer our advice for this newly expanded H&M Sport collection. Our focus has been checking the pieces for fit and function, for performance and also comfort. These new H&M Sport pieces will help everyone get the most out of their sporting life,” stated Alshammer strava on the company website. H&M renews Sport lines for men, women and children H&M Sport will have its own separate and dedicated retail space in chosen strava stores and each separate strava collection has its own distinct pieces. For the women's collection H&M Sport will offer a number of pieces, specially designed for running (indoors or out), gym work outs and yoga. “Functionality strava and comfort are key to the design”, and the line will be available in a series of colors ranging from black, to hot pink. For the men's line, key garments are designed for running (indoors or out), tennis and basic athletic kits. For the children's line, H&M Sport has designed pieces for children of all ages that can be used in soccer kits, track running, tennis kits, swimming suits, athletic kits, as well as dancing gear and outdoor sporting wear. Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative head of design at H&M said: “The new H&M Sport is so exciting, especially with the expert input from athletes from the Swedish Olympic team. Sport and fitness is becoming an increasingly important part of all of our lifestyles, and the new H&M Sport is there to help you look and feel great.” Earlier this year, H&M revealed plans to expand its current sport's wear collection after the company announced it had signed an agreement to provide sport apparel for Sweden’s athletes for the next four years, including events like the Winter Olympics and Paralympics set to take place in Sochi, Russia next year and the Summer Olympics and Paralympics which will be held in Rio de Janeiro strava in 2016.
