December 4th is the day (or rather night) as the Roman Empire celebrated the "good goddess" Bona Dea. It is not surprising that you might not have heard of Bona Dea celebration. There are three good reasons for it, the easiest to understand is that there was / is primarily a celebration of women. Bona Dea is according rutracker encyclopedia perhaps a collective name for several goddesses in Roman mythology. The easiest explained Bona Dea as the "good goddess", which both accounted for virginity and fertility - which superficially may be a bit contradictory. She also called Fauna, rutracker partly because she is the daughter of the god Faunus. She was celebrated in secret rites at 4 December. Rites there just Roman women were invited. A festival in her honor was held 1 May; even then only for women. Bona Dea's interesting, because she stands for the good of women, including healing, sexuality and abundance. It is no coincidence that she often was marked on the coins in Roman times. Reach. the reasons why this goddess and her celebration is not widely rutracker known. They are three: 1. Past. Celebration is directly linked to the Roman era and the mythology, history has made the rites forgotten. 2. Secret. The rites were secret, especially for men in general. And since men's tellers and historians, they are not recorded in any greater extent. 3. Gender. It is about women's rites. Yes. We live in a patriarchy, which in many ways depresses the female expression. Bona Dea is largely forgotten, because it is a female celebration. # Blogg24 - 04
